Internet Safety Skills for ages 8-12

  1. Never give out your name, address, school name or phone number in a chat room or on bulletin boards.
  2. Never send a picture of yourself to someone you chat with online without getting yoru parents' permission.
  3. People online may not be who they say they are. Somebody who says "she" is an "11-year-old girl" could be somebody else entirely.
  4. Nothing you write on the Web is completely private - including email. Be careful about what you key in and who you tell things to online.
  5. Always delete unknown email attachments without opening them. They could contain viruses that could mess up your computer.
