BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS nurture young people's self-esteem by instilling in them a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence.

"Great Futures Start Here"

The Boys & Girls Club of Michigan City was established in 1997 as a charter of the Boys and Girls Club of America. Our after-school programs reach out to mroe than 300 young people each year to teach them about making positive choices for their lives.

Through the national organization, we are able to provide our local youth with many opportunities that otherwise would not be available to them. These include the opportunity to be selected "National Youth of the Year" and meet with the President in Washington, D.C.!

We are a not-for-profit organization, a 501(c)3, that relies on community support, individual donations, United Way and other grants to continue our mission to reach all youth and make our community a better place to be.

The benefits of joining last a lifetime.

Our programs emphasize the positive:
  • promote character development through diverse experiences.
  • help youth to succeed in school and develop positive self-images.
  • teach cooperation and team spirit.
  • promote physical fitness.
  • offer hope and opportunity in a fun and positive environment.

Caring and Professional Staff

Staff members and volunteers are carefully screened: everyone MUST pass a national background check.

Staff training is conducted regularly:
  • by educators on staff.
  • through local training opportunities.
  • at Boys & Girls Clubs of America national and regional events.

Membership is available to all youth ages 6 through 18.
After school and summer programs are available.
